Featuring the theme, ‘Picture This’, on March 12th at Stonegate Conference & Banquet Centre, HOPE’S IN Style held their annual fashion show. Emceed by BHS seniors Jack Moran and Meaghan Rivera, it was an exciting afternoon of fashion, friendship and most importantly fundraising for the families living in the Guatemala City garbage dump communities. The models & stylists, HOPE’S IN Style committee, and adult mentors worked hard to make this an afternoon to remember for all our guests!
With the support of the community, our guests, sponsors, and donors, HOPE’S IN was able to raise enough funds to build 11 homes this summer In partnership with the Potters House Association! This summer, 11 families will have a home built for them by the student and adult volunteers of HOPE’S IN. The families (or ‘Treasures’ as we refer to them) will have a roof over their head, a proper floor, walls around them and most importantly safety & security.
HOPE’S IN Style, the largest student-run fundraiser in the area, featured raffles, silent and live auctions, in addition to the fashion show. Guests were also able to learn more about the organization through the student volunteers who have traveled to Guatemala before as well as get a visual through several videos. ROAR created & sold beautiful bird houses in yellow and blue, the colors of HOPE’S IN, at the event.
