This year, I am a member of the HOPE’S INterns program. Through the program, I am learning about social advocacy and developing my leadership skills to change the world! One of our main projects is organizing an annual fashion show fundraiser called Hope’s in Style. This is an important event that brings together our community and rallies for hope!
I hope to raise money for the 501(c)(3) organization, HOPE’S IN, as I believe that they positively change the lives of the people living in Guatemala. HOPE’S IN has been working to empower families in Guatemala for the past 8 years. Their programs focus on community development projects like building homes, special education, empowering teen mothers, medical care and raising up the next generation of humanitarian leaders.
My fundraising goal is to raise $500 to support HOPE’S IN’s INclusion Alliance program. The INclusion Alliance works with a team of speech pathologists, special educators, and advocates in the U.S. to provide training and educational seminars for leaders and advocates in Guatemala. The INclusion Alliance also sponsors a Special Educator at a residential facility for women aging out of the child welfare system in Guatemala that can’t live independently due to an intellectual or developmental disability. We invest time, resources, and talent into various Guatemalan organizations who bring hope, dignity, and empowerment to children.
I want to support the INclusion Alliance because I have a passion to help kids and adults with special needs. This desire to help began several years ago because my mom is a special education teacher and I have helped out in her classroom. I have also listened to her talk about the importance of helping those with special needs because with extra teaching and support these children can make vast improvements and therefore be able to contribute to society. Will you help me to achieve my goal to make an impact this April?
Thank you for helping me empower these children and young adults!
Sincerely,
Meredith
