“My mother and I will always cherish our time spent on the project making a difference, especially our time with the other volunteers and local families.” -Liam

This year, on July 23rd, our Mom, Teri, turns 60 years old! We have decided that instead of a party or gifts, we would like to ask our loved ones to donate to HOPE’S IN in her honor.

HOPE’S IN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that empowers families living in Guatemala City and works to develop the next generation of humanitarian leaders.

When we asked our Mom what she wanted to do to celebrate her 60th birthday, she was not interested in an extravagant gift, a big party, or a nice vacation after COVID bans are lifted. She asked us to do something for others.

Last summer, our Mom volunteered with our brother, Liam, in Guatemala City, Guatemala with the organization Hope’s In. They spent a week building a new home for a family living in the garbage dump community in the center of the city. Currently, 13,000 men, women and children live there.

To celebrate our Mom’s birthday this year, we would like to raise all the funds required to completely build a new home for a Guatemalan family. Our goal is $6,000.

Please consider giving a gift of $60 (or more, if you are able) to the nonprofit organization, Hope’s In, to help us achieve this goal.

Thank you for helping us make the dreams of our Mom and a deserving family in Guatemala come true.

P.S. Please be sure to write your own birthday wish to Teri in the “Leave a Comment” section.
