Here at HOPE’S IN, we value the dedication and insights from volunteers of all ages and stages of life! This Spring and Summer, we are grateful to have Jeffrey volunteering as an Intern for our Medical Program. HOPE’S IN community, meet Jeffrey!
Hello, I’m Jeffrey! I will enter my junior year as a Biochemistry major at Loyola University Chicago in the fall of 2020, and I enthusiastically look forward to the opportunity to work with the people at Hope’s In during my internship this summer. I learned about Hope’s In through an on-campus Global Health Club of which I am a proud member. Some of my fellow club members have a history of working for Hope’s In and encouraged me to apply for a spring and summer internship. After some research into the program at Hope’s In, I quickly fell in love with their mission to improve global health and the lives of those around the world who are far less fortunate than I am. As a person with aspirations of working in healthcare, global health is of great importance to me. The best way to ensure the health of people is through proper preventative measures such as eating appropriately and keeping proper hygiene. Many people around the world, however, do not have the facilities to help maintain healthy habits. As a result, organizations that focus on global health, such as Hope’s In, are pioneers in improving the world in which we live. With the careful guidance of the doctors and people with whom I will be working through Hope’s In, I know I will be learning the most successful practices to improve the health of others. I am truly blessed for the opportunity to work with and learn from so many highly respected people, and I am excited to see what the future holds for me at Hope’s In.
