Dear Hope’s In community,
All 55 of our week 2 volunteers arrived safely and have completed an amazing first day of work! Six houses are under construction, sports and dance clinics are being hosted and our medical clinic is running!
Every volunteer has a purpose for being on this trip. Some find out the first day, others will encounter their “reason” later in the week. It’s so exciting to think about how every person on the trip is going to make an impact and also be impacted. 55 lives are going to be forever altered and we are hoping that throughout the week we can share with you some stories of how people have been growing.
One story today comes from the team of house 5. The mother, Pilli, was carrying around a note book with her name on it all day. When a volunteer asked her what she had in the notebook she opened to a page where she had written down different supplies and dates from the construction of her new home. I can’t help but feel the sense of history that is being made in this week and the weeks that led up to everyone being here. Potter’s House says that it will often take a generation for a family to save up and build their own cinderblock home but we have the privileged to intercede and guard that generation. To guard Pilli from the pain of living in a corrugated metal shack her whole life.
This week is going to be incredible. We ask that you continue to stay with us in prayer for protection and strength!
Blessings,
Courtney Quigley
