HOPE’S IN Program Opens Headquarters in Guatemala

Last month, we finally found the perfect rental space for Fortaleza’s headquarters in Guatemala City. It’s a big step for our work with Fortaleza women and children. This space will be used for one-on-one psychological therapy, intentional counseling, mentorship, tutoring, and an office space for our two staff members, Katie and Luisa.

The space is located just a few blocks away from where most of the girls live. We are looking forward to transforming the place into a refreshing and welcoming refuge for the women we serve. Opening our own space in the community means deeper connections with the women, walking closer with them in complicated situations, and growing our network with community leaders in other organizations and schools. Being in the community on almost a daily basis will allow us to facilitate follow up with the programs in Fortaleza that many people have been investing in. It also means gaining a deeper understanding and context of the communities as our program continues to grow and evolve.

Fortaleza’s doors will be open any time you would like to visit. ¡Mi casa es tu casa!
